FAQ

Honest answers to the real questions.

We get the same questions from most families — for good reason. Here are our straight answers.

Our hourly rates depend on the type and complexity of care, with most standard care plans falling within a competitive range for the Los Angeles area. We're upfront about pricing on the first call — no hidden fees, no assessment charges, no setup costs. Most families find we cost less than full-time facility care while keeping their loved one at home. Call us for a personalized quote.
Yes, our standard minimum is 4 hours per visit, which lets us provide meaningful, unhurried care. For specific situations — like medication reminders or short check-ins — we can sometimes accommodate shorter visits. Ask us during your consultation.
Yes. We work with most long-term care insurance policies and handle the documentation and billing directly with your insurer. We can also help you understand your policy benefits if you're unsure what's covered. Veterans benefits (VA Aid & Attendance) are also accepted.
We'll change the match — no questions, no fees. Personality fit is something we take seriously, and we'd rather rematch than force a relationship that isn't working. Just call your care coordinator and we'll have a new caregiver introduced within days.
Every Grandis caregiver is a direct employee — never a contractor. That means we handle workers' compensation, payroll taxes, liability insurance, and bonding. You're never on the hook for any of it. They're also background-checked, fingerprinted through Live Scan, and registered with the California Department of Social Services.
For most families, care can begin within 48–72 hours of your first call. For urgent situations — like a hospital discharge — we can often start the same day. We move quickly when it matters.
We provide care across the San Gabriel Valley and greater Los Angeles area, including Temple City, Pasadena, Arcadia, San Marino, South Pasadena, Monterey Park, Alhambra, San Gabriel, Rosemead, El Monte, Glendale, and surrounding communities. Not sure if we cover your area? Just ask.
Yes. There are no long-term contracts. You can increase, decrease, pause, or stop service at any time. We ask for as much notice as you can give us — but life happens, and we work with you.
All caregivers complete state-required training plus extensive in-house onboarding covering safe transfers, fall prevention, dementia care techniques, infection control, nutrition for seniors, and emergency response. They continue with paid quarterly training on advanced topics throughout their tenure with us.
For many families, yes — especially for part-time care. A few hours of daily in-home care often costs less than full-time facility care, and your loved one stays in their own home with their belongings, memories, and neighbors. We'll do the math with you honestly during your consultation.
Every caregiver is trained in emergency response and CPR. If a situation requires medical attention, they call 911 first, then notify family and our on-call coordinator. Our clinical liaison (a Registered Nurse) is also available to consult with families and physicians as needed.
Caregivers log daily visit notes (activities, meals, mood, anything notable) through our care app, which family members can view from anywhere. You'll also have direct access to your care coordinator for any questions or concerns.
